should I transfer my domain or map it?

  I have a domain with godaddy and it doesn’t expire yet til 6/2019. If I transfer my domain will it cost me extra? Should I map it? I dont know what to do.

  If you want to use a custom domain at wordpress.com, you will need to have a wordpress.com paid plan.
  With wordpress.com paid plan you will receive one free domain credit in which you do either of these 3 things for free once.
  1. Purchase a New domain
  2. Transfer one existing domain
  3. map one you already own

  Transferring a domain to wordpress.com will save time to update the nameservers at GoDaddy when you will purchase hosting with us. And everything your host and your domain would be under one roof.
