Should I transfer my URL

  I have a domain name from GoDaddy and I have subscribed to email but have not yet set it up or used it. My purpose in using WordPress is to start a blog and eventually have links to items for sale. Should I transfer my URL to WordPress or just link them???

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  From what I understand, you’d like to create a blog and have affiliate links in it in the future, is that right?

  If you create your site on WordPress.com, after purchasing any of our paid plans, you’d be able to map your custom domain without any additional charges:

  If you decide to transfer the domain to WordPress.com, we’ll be your new registrar, and you’ll manage your domain directly from your dashboard. The transfer will be included in any annual paid plan, and the price of the domain from the second year will depend on its extension (TLD):
