Should I use WordPress as a platform to monetise my site on?
-
I’m deciding on which site to focus my efforts on and am considering weirdorwhat.wordpress.com to upgrade in an effort to make some money from my writing. What holds me back is the low traffic I’ve got since I started the site in 2014. I have blogspot sites that get much higher volumes but they lack some functionality WordPress has. Will buying the domain and upgrading for $99 do anything for me given my content will be ‘fitness & weight for the over 50,s’? I am aware more frequent & regular posting are required and I will commit to doing so but why should I go with WordPress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Many very popular sites — even http://time.com/ — are hosted at WordPress.com.
As you mention, publishing regular quality posts is much more important than the platform.
That being said, WordPress.com does offer things like the Reader and Publicize which can help you build a new audience.
I recommend you have a look at these guides for tips on building an audience and monetizing your site:
