Should Typekit fonts show up in standard view?

I’ve created a Typekit account and linked it to my WordPress.com account. When I publish my kit, should these fonts show up in “standard view” when I am updating the fonts?

I know it is linked up because in “advanced” mode in Fonts I see:

    Fonts in this kit
Use these font properties as reference for your Typekit.com Kit Editor selectors, or to write your own CSS:
    Brandon Grotesque
    400 normal
    400 italic
    700 normal
    700 italic

I figured the font, in this case Brandon Groteque, would show up in “standard view.”

    Any help would be great!

    Greg

When you say “Standard View” I assume you mean in the Custom Fonts Dashboard where you can regulate Header, Title and Body text? If so, I believe that screen will show only the fonts available through the regular Custom Fonts upgrade.

Since you appear to be using a combined Custom Design and Typekit account, I believe any other font in your Typekit account won’t appear there. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/#connect-a-typekit-account and http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/6840#advanced-mode

For confirmation, I’m tagging this for Staff input.

Just a side note: I noticed on your site you have a Payment link.

Just be aware that WordPress.com is not set up for ecommerce (shopping cart) and you will want to review the Terms of Service (especially the “types of blogs”) to make sure your site falls within those terms. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

That’s a bummer, I figured the fonts would show up in the standard view to make everything easier (I am a complete CSS novice, so I didn’t think I’d have to jump in there). Looks like I’ll be learning some CSS!

Also, thanks for the TOS heads up. I will re-read.

Hm, either I didn’t have enough coffee this morning and forgot to tag this for Staff or now I’ve had too much and the tag for Staff disappeared, so I will re-tag it so you get official confirmation.

If you need help with your Custom Design upgrade, make sure you post directly to the CSS Customization forum. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform

The other custom fonts from Typekit won’t show up in the standard view, it’s only possible to add fonts as described here.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
