Show advanced dashboard pages

  Per WordPress instructions, I enabled ‘Show advanced dashboard pages’ some weeks ago. I see it is STILL enabled. However, this morning my Dashboard is back to the ‘newer’ version which I do not want. I want the old version. This is getting old, WordPress. You keep changing interfaces it appears whenever you feel like it – which is why I hesitate to purchase a plan. Any suggestions?

  Hi there,

  I checked your account and the ‘Show advanced dashboard pages’ option is still enabled. Enabling this feature doesn’t give you the exact version of the old dashboard, but many of the wp-admin features that were available before are now accessible (such as your post, media, pages, portfolio edit pages).

  Is there something you are seeing in your dashboard that isn’t the old format that you were expecting to see?

  Yep, I expected to see the old version of the dashboard that I’ve been using up until this morning when it miraculously disappeared.

  I’d love to insert a screenshot of it now but I can’t. However, if you look at the dashboard as it appears NOW the left-hand column (in purple on my account) is visually different (from the older dashboard) and takes up LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of real estate on the screen.

  Again, how do I get back to the older, more visually-appealing version of the dashboard because this is the one I complained about several weeks ago and that I was told would revert back if I enabled the ‘Show advanced dashboard pages’ option (which worked).

  Something has changed at your end because I haven’t done anything different on mine. Again, how can we fix this?

  Maybe this will make it easier to understand. I just create a Page with visuals and text.

  That view is correct for what we offer now under “Show advanced dashboard pages.”

  It just includes the old Dashboard pages, it doesn’t change much else.

  I do see the problem you’re reporting though, and we’ll take a look.

  For now, if you choose “Collapse menu” at the bottom of the sidebar to the left, that should help.

  Thank you!

  I had to scroll down to see the Collapse menu. After I did that I see the Dashboard menu on the left-hand side as “normal” (for me, at least).

  Everything else corrected itself, as well. Do not have to expand the browser window full-size.
