Show avatars of followers in sidebar?

  Hello. I thought I had seen blogs where the avatars of their followers showed up in the sidebar but don’t see this option in my “Subscribe” widget.

  Is this possible, or am I confusing this with the functionality of avatars showing for people who have “liked” an individual post?

  This is the information on the follow blog widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/ It does not display avatars.

  We set up the display of avatars/gravatars on comments here > Settings > Discussions
  scroll down the page to:
  Avatars
  An avatar is an image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on avatar enabled sites. Here you can enable the display of avatars for people who comment on your site. …

  What you might have seen is the code from BlogCatalog which does enable the blog to display pictures of the last visitors from BlogCatalog.
