Show Featured Thumbnail & DIFFERENT Image on Post Page? (Stop Duplicate Thumb)

    Hello, I hope someone can help! A seemingly simple problem that’s proven difficult to tackle (despite many, many attempts to solve, and many online searches) …

    I am using the twenty fourteen WordPress template. And I am trying to set it up such that (a) the opening page shows a thumbnail/featured picture (along with a headline) for each the featured posts, but then (b) each of these featured posts then shows a DIFFERENT picture when you click into it. (The default setup seems to be for the SAME picture to show up again on the post story page). I’ve tried countless things to fix this, but seem to not be able to solve it. In fact, things seem to have gotten worse …

On the opening page, if I have include a featured picture … then it shows up TWICE on the story page (on top of the DIFFERENT picture that is actually the only picture that I really want to show there). For example, see http://www.yogayouthalliance.org/can-yoga-help-combat-the-traumas-of-childhood-poverty/ . On the other hand, if I DON’T include a featured picture on the opening page, then the post page looks just fine. But then I have no featured picture (and I want to have one). Again, reallly just looking to have featured pictures for featured posts on the opening page. And then different pictures that show up when you click into the different stories. Can anyone help with this?

    That site is not a WordPress.com hosted blog. You are confusing WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG and posting to the wrong support forum.

    We provide support only for blogs being hosted WordPress.COM and not for WordPress.ORG software installs. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of some themes with same names. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
