Show Feed Stats
-
My blog is at http://BCphotoadventures.wordpress.com. When I looked up Feed Stats in the forum, I saw that people referred to it as appearing on their dashboard. I have no such thing and wondered how to add it? I would love to know how many people have kept track of our blog through RSS feeds. Is there something I need to add somewhere in my custom CSS? I posted this question under the Questions forum but got no response, so I’m trying here.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help on this one,

Hi t3ck,
To go back to bcphotoadventures question–how do you find out the number of feed subscribers? I don’t see it in the dashboard.
Thanks,
Al -
WordPress could probably tell you how many connect or pull your feed, but what would that tell you? Feedburner pulls it once, but may serve it to 500 people, or perhaps just 1 or 2. WordPress can’t tell how many people pull your feed from feedburner and the same is true with Yahoo, and Feedblitz and Google Reader and all the other feed aggregators. They all connect and pull once, but may feed it to hundreds. WordPress doesn’t have that information.
-
WordPress.com uses google analytics to get out stats, so presumably that would mean they have the information? When I started, they used to give feed stats, but stopped not long afterwards.
-
That would give info for Google/feedburner, but not for Yahoo or Feedblitz or the others. Google would not know when they serve a feed to someone.
-
I wonder what they used to do the original stats. And of course, they show the feed stats on individual posts to this day.
-
OK–thanks for all the info. I guess I’ll look at the Feed stats on individual posts for now.
