show / hide text content within a page with javascript

  I am working on a website for a friend using wordpress. I am using twentyten template and would like to implement a show/hide feature so that some text is displayed only when clicking a phrase. Is this possible to do? how?

  For example she has a list and want to display the text for each item only when clicing the item (word or phrase)

  please help! thank you.
