"Show images in carousel" isn't working

I have the “show images in carousel” feature enabled but no matter what, when I click an image I’m brought directly to the image file and the lightbox never pops up. The carousel only pops up if I’m using an image gallery. I’m using Google Chrome on Ubuntu GNOME.

For example, try clicking on the photo in this blog post: http://whiskeyinmycoffee.wordpress.com/2014/10/12/pueblo-home-coronado-historic-site/

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My understanding is the image carousel is only a feature of the galleries. If you want the image to open in a lightbox when you click it, you might try inserting galleries with just one photo in them rather than loading the photos the usual way.

Let me know if that works or if it creates new and different problems for you.

That’s not how I interpret it, though. If you go to Settings > Media, the first option is “Image Gallery Carousel” which simply states ” Display images in full-size carousel slideshow.” That doesn’t reference image galleries at all.

The only time a gallery is referenced is for the “tiled galleries” setting.

I see. I’ll mark the thread for staff assistance so we can get an “official ruling”

    Hey there!

The Carousel setting you’ve mentioned is under the “Image Gallery Carousel” heading and is a Gallery feature.

Does that clarify? Is there a way we could make this more clear?
