Show links to related articles from my blog at the bottom of posts
-
I would like to show links to other related posts from my blog at the bottom of newer posts. Is there a way to do this, and would I have to manually enter related posts or is there a system for sorting out common themes?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can use Zemanta to add related links to your blog posts (more info here: Zemanta for Recommended Links, Photos, Articles), but the suggestions from Zemanta are not restricted to posts from your blog.
There isn’t a way to automatically add links to related posts from your blog at the bottom of blog posts. However, you can use Categories and Tags to help users quickly find related posts on your blog. If you add relevant categories/tags to your posts, visitors can view the archive pages for those topics to find other related posts you’ve written. I hope this helps!

I found the Zemanta method, but I wasn’t able to find where to add it to the bottom of posts on my page. I can only get the suggested articles to pop up at the bottom of a new post when I am writing it or editing. I saw on a wordpress blog (http://emorfes.com) suggestions at the bottom of posts that were for that blog only, so it must be possible. Does it have something to do with the theme, or special coding?

To add Zemanta articles to your blog posts, you will need to make sure that Recommendations is selected in your Screen Options, as described here:
You should then see a Recommendations module when you create or edit a post. You can use that to select images or links to related articles to add to your blog post.
The blog you linked to is using Zemanta for the suggestions at the bottom of the post. Although Zemanta will show articles from a number of sources, it may include your own blog posts as well. You can search through the Zemanta recommendations to look for your own blog posts and select those recommendations. Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

Okay, but when I look at the Zemanta recommendations at the bottom of the edit/new post page and click to add a link, it only shows up with the words of a link. How would I make it so there is an image to correspond? Also, previous posts of mine that are related don’t always show up, so is there a way to custom choose which articles Zemanta allows me to link to?

Zemanta offers both recommended photos and text links to related articles. If you would like the links to related articles to be images instead of text, you will need to find an image that you want to use instead of the text. You can create image links by following this guide: Image Links
There isn’t a way to limit the Zemanta recommendations to only posts from your blog, but you can use the search bar in the Recommendations module to narrow down the results that Zemanta offers.
