Show more posts (rather than Left and Right Links)

    New to WordPress and struggling.

    1. How to show more than just the last post on the page rather than just the latest. This makes readability poor.

    2. How to allow the reader to scroll down through a number posts rather than having to use the LINKS to past and later posts.

Maybe I am on the wrong theme for our simple kind of blog

  • Hi there. If I click on “Diary” in your menu I see all your posts under each other, most recent post at the top. This is called your main feed.

What you’re describing is the single-post view, which is what you get if you click on the title of one post in the main feed. The single-post view is designed to show only one post, along with its comments, with Previous and Next links to visit adjoining posts. But any reader can get back to your main feed by simply clicking the Diary link where they’ll see all posts listed.

All themes on WordPress.com work this way.

You could consider changing the Diary heading to Posts instead. That might help clear up any confusion.

Thanks Kokkeih. I now understand what a single-post view is!
I will look at this. We are all new to WordPress.

  • We all were at one point :)
