Show most recently edited, not latest published?

When I edit a post, I’d like the updated version to become the most recent post on the blog, not just an updated version of the post published at its original date and time. I know I can re-set the date manually before updating posts, but I was wondering if there’s a setting I can change that would make this automatic.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No setting I am aware of for Recently Update at the top.

Changing the date is bad because the date is part of the file name and that will break the old URL and give you a file not found 404 error which search engines really hate. Your site would be down graded because of that.

How about a Text Widget in the top part of the Sidebar called “Recently Updated” and put a link to the Posts that you have updated. Then when you have visitors they see new content at the top of your site but they also see a link on the side to “Recently Update”

Great point about the date-changing and 404’s. Thanks.

I’ll probably fiddle around with oddball experiments involving sticky posts and widgets. The thing I’m trying to create isn’t really a blog in the classic sense, so I’m getting used to endlessly tweaking settings.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. :]
