Show Nickname Instead of Username on my Blog
-
My username is ‘cawoodm’ and so was my nickname until I changed it to ‘Marc’. My hope was that all my posts (on my blog) and comments (on other blogs) would show the nickname which is not the case. I’ve read many questions about this on the forum but none really gave me a solution. I’ve got a free bog on wordpress.com.

Although your username cannot be changed, your nickname can be entered the “Your Profile” page. Do note that all the blogs on one account use the same display name. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/can-i-change-my-username/

There seems to be some general wordpress wackiness around at the moment so this may be part of that.

Solved: The issue is an obscure setting under “Users” -> “Your Profile” called “Display name publicly as: ” which allows you to chose several options. I could swear this was not there when I entered my nickname and it’s right below that box!

Because you must type your nickname, save it, then it will show your nickname in Display name publicly as feature.
Just a Note: The nickname doesnt appear at the forums -
So is there a way to change how your name displays in the forums? I would like my nickname to display on forum posts, OR change my user name so that is the case. How can I do this?
Thanks.
