Show only certain categories on Front Page

  Is there a way to mark which categories are “front page-worthy” and which should be skipped from the front page?

  I found advice on how to create a static front page, but not on how to customize the dynamic one.

  I think it would be nice to either let one “Edit Category” to mark the each that would show on the front page, or edit a “Dynamic Front Page” to list which categories to show.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
