Show only latest post
-
I’m using Hemingway, and trying to make a comic blog. And it works great, except I want it to show just the latest post. Not the latest two.
How do I do this?

-> Options -> Reading
Blog Pages
Show at most:____posts
reduce the number to “1” and click “Update Options” to save.
Do understand though that you cannot change the length of the excerpt allowed by the theme. -
That “show only 1 post” thing doesn’t work for some reason.
Is there a HIDE CSS element I could use to hide the second post?
That’s annoying. It’s the only one that’s suitable for a newspaper strip type comic, really.
I used to have a lovely comicpress installation, but I stupidly downgraded my hosting to save money and I didn’t realise my new hosting didn’t have MySQL. So all my data got deleted :(

Have you thought of trying Redoable Lite? It may work for you. And you can use the same instructions to reduce the number of posts on the front page to one.

I’m not sure by what you mean by “cuts it off”. There is a maximum size for images in the blogging space in each theme without breaking the layout. The maximum sizes are listed here http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/

Exactly. Hemingway is the best looking theme, with the most amount of visible image space.
Suppose I might have to switch to classic.

I am using Unsleepable Theme and it looks perfect for 1 post per page well that’s what I style my blog anyway. But when you do this (or use this theme) avoid putting long list of widgets in your sidebar.
