Show only parent pages

Sorry if this question has been answered already. I searched around for over an hour looking and although I did find relevant questions they’ve been closed and the answer wasn’t posted.

I’m trying to get it so that only the parent pages show. When you click on a parent page and it opens then you see the child pages. I’ve heard this can be resolved by changing themes. Right now I’m using ChaoticSoul and I don’t know if it can hide child pages or not. I searched themes as well looking to see if I could find which ones hide child pages but wasn’t sure what I’m looking for and came up empty handed.

I really like having the navigation on the right side instead of the top and prefer using something like ChaoticSoul that is a dark base.

When looking on my page I will have the tourney section public (easy only two child pages).

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    It’s possible, and it’s not theme-dependent – see here:

Is there also a way that when I click the parent link their child links show-up from that page? I’ve done what the link says but now they are totally hidden. Even I can’t see them.
I’d like people to still be able to access them, I just don’t want a huge list of pages clogging up my home page.

Nevermind. I figured out something that works.
If I use the widget to hide the pages but post links for them on their parent pages you can still access them. :)

    Thanks.

You’re welcome. And you’re right, you need to add links to the child pages on the parent ones. There are only a handful of themes in which such links show up automatically – see here:

Child pages: links displayed on parent or as dropdowns
