Show Only Some Posts/Entries

From the looks of things, this is an infantile question for helpers here — please make the answer very simplified.

I might mention, I did start two blogs. The other is http://thediaryblog.wordpress.com (if I recall the url correctly)

I understand that a weblog is simply a continuous string of posted “entries,” like log-book. But, I only want about three or four entries showing at a time. In other words, someone looks in and sees Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday’s deathless prose; then, later in the week, he/she looks in and sees the rest of the week. I don’t expect people to look in every day, and neither do I want anyone put off by and endless string of postings.

I can’t figure out how to keep a limited number of entries in view.

I might mention, I’m familiar with the Blogger/Google system and that’s what my two regular and three sometimes readers are used to reading. But, I don’t know anything about “tags” (or labels), “catagories,” the “SS’s” or a bunch of other termenology and really don’t have time to learn at the present time. I just want to get some sort of daily message posted in a neat little bunch of about three or four onscreen at a time.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s easy: you go to Settings->Reading and set how many posts to show on each page. You have to set this for each blog separately.
