show post in catagory from multiple subdomain in one root domain

i was wondering, if there is any way or a simple theme that can help me showing posts from various sub domains in my root domains word press site in a category featured post view. i want to use seven category featured post to display seven different type of posts from seven different sub domains.
is it possible? please help me out. its going to be some kinda portal type site..
