show recent post from only one category in sidebar

  Hi,

  I am currently using the vigilance theme for my blog – http://www.onegiantarm.com
  As the site features both ‘original’ and found work, I am trying to find a way of keeping the original stuff visible within the sidebar to retain some longevity on an otherwise fast moving and often updated blog.
  Is there a way similar to the recent posts widget that will only display the recent posts from a certain category?

  You can add an RSS widget to your sidebar, and paste the feed URL for that category to it. As an example, the feed URL for your “photo” category is this:
  http://onegiantarm.com/category/photo/feed/
