show related stories under posts
-
Hello
I would appreciate to use a blog widget that appears under each post with thumbnails, linking to related stories .
Something like http://www.linkwithin.com/learn.I also would appreciate a link on the post allowing to print the post or a part of the post. I have a food blog and it could be fun if the readers could print the recipe.
Sorry for my bad english
Thank you for thinking at my requests.

I use “linkwithin” in my wordpress. install on my domain and I really like it. My stats show that my readers use it to click into related posts. I would love to see it introduced here at wordpress.com

It’s exactly what I want. But, unfortunately linkwithin doesn’t work on my blog. And I’m not a “Pro” in informatic. To 1tess
Thank you for the link. I readed it and I wait …

@timethief, I’vee noticed how you have the “related posts” links under each post on your blog and today I felt inspired to start doing it manually on my blog. Until a few weeks ago I used the automatically generated “possibly related posts” function, which often included links to my own blog. But I finally turned it off because of links to unsuitable blogs.
@delimoon, if you would like a link that allows readers to print part of the post or recipe, there is such a link on the AddToAny button. It’s called Printfriendly and is one of a slew of buttons on the AddToAny button, which is WordPress.com compatible. You could mention to your readers the option is available.

I have been a “copycat” of timethief re her blog. She’s going to start thinking I’m her brand new blog stalker if I’m not careful. :-)
I’ve been going back and slowly cleaning up old posts to conform to good blogging standards, i.e. less links, less tags, more relevant type of tags, etc. What an increase I’ve seen on my blog.
That being said, I wanted a related post plugin but we can’t have plugins here on WordPress.com. She has a related post at the bottom of her blog. I don’t know how she did it but I found one on WLW.
The way this one works is it is reliant on Delicious (who thought of that name? I conjures up images of icecream and the beach for some reason). Anyway, when you post, you send your blog post to delicious including the tags, etc. I’ve been doing that. So when you run the plugin on WLW before you upload your post, it generates a list of related posts based on your tags on delicious and generates a related list. Because I have not been very good at tags, I got a bunch of posts that really were not germain to my post so I simply deleted them before republishing.
Here’s my test post if you’re interested in seeing how it looks. This is one of my posts that I will be going back and doing clean up work as to tags, etc. I’m trying to clean-up 1-2 posts a week. But in any event, you can see how WLW generated the list of related posts. It pulled them from my delicious account.

G’day tisgrei
I do all of my related posts manually. I’m interested to hear there is such a plugin in WLW. Thanks for sharing that information – bookmarking. :) -
