Show the publish date on each post on the Home page of the Gather theme.

On the Gather theme, I’d like the home page to show the date each post is published so people know if they’re seeing “olds or news” 😊 and what the time-frame is. They could search by date rather than having to “view more” to find out where they are. People don’t even know how the posts are sorted.

This sounds like CSS to me, but I don’t know it. Could a Happiness Engineer send me the code, which I would insert with my other code? My website would be infinitely more useful and professional. Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll need a different theme; but I like the way Gather looks and how it shows posts altogether with enticing photos.

Thanks for listening! Lane Randall (Webmaster)

PS Webmaster reminds me. As I am the only person writing and publishing, the “By Webmaster” looks a bit self-centered. How do I remove that?

    Hello thisnowandthatthen,

Adding the post date would require a PHP customization, as well as some supporting CSS. You would need to be on a WordPress.com Business plan to implement that level of customization.

I would also like to suggest a non-coding remedy to your webmaster-as-author issue: add a second account and create posts from that other account. You can also reassign the author name for existing posts.
