Show whole posts instead of excerpts on category/tag pages?
-
Happily, my blog is ranking for “geek poems” and “geek poetry,” which I want it to do. Sadly, the page that is ranking is the category page for the category “geek poems,” not the main page of my blog: http://geektasticpentameter.com/category/geek-poems/
This page is showing excerpts of blog posts rather than the whole thing, and because of the way these excerpts are formatted, what people who arrive at my blog from search see is unreadable nonsense instead of poems.
The same is true of tag pages, although that’s less of a concern to me since that’s not what’s ranking in search: http://geektasticpentameter.com/tag/fictional-characters/
I’m afraid if I delete my category and have everything uncategorized, I will lose my search ranking. Is there a setting somewhere to show the whole post instead of an excerpt when the blog is viewed by category/tag?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. This is theme dependent.
n the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. You can also display full posts instead of unformatted beginnings if you copy the whole content of the post from the HTML editor and paste it into the Excerpt module, so check this list too (second column):

Oh, excellent, thank you. I had not had any luck finding a theme that supported everything I want and could be modified for my header art to fix it, but the excerpt function may be perfect. I had hunted all over for how to enable it (we use it at work so I knew it was a thing) and didn’t realize it was hidden up in the screen options!
