Show wordpress.org posts on wordpress.com

Is it possible to show your public wordpress.org blog posts on the wordpress.com updates? If so, how?

I’m trying to get more users to stumble upon my blog. It would be nice if my blog acted like a wordpress.com blog as far as showing up in the browseable or update list.

    Thank you for any assistance.

I do know this Mr. Support Bot. Thank you for the automated message. The question is actually about features of wordpress.com. =)

    Show wordpress.org posts on wordpress.com

    No way!

The features of wordpress.com are the many features that belong to the wordpress.com community, and that includes the wordpress.com blogger’s posts appearing on the global tagging pages.

As wordpress.org bloggers do not wish to dwell within the confines and limitations of being a member of the wordpress.com community, they have chosen not to a a part of that community . Consequently, any expectation they may have that they ought to be able to avail themselves of benefiting from the features they previously rejected is unrealistic.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of not rejecting the features… but more of expanding on them with wordpress.org. =)

Thanks for the reply. You now have a new follower! My old blog was completely nothing but self motivation and personal development. Hopefully I’ll be writing more about that and not so much of randomness.

    Thank you so much.

To Confirm what has been posted above by TimeThief, the option your seeking is a NO go plus I do believe it breaks the TOS of WP.com since you would have to have a blog driving traffic to your WP.ORG site. Which would be considered driving traffic to a 3rd party site which is not allowed here.

@tbol3 If you don’t have a accurate answer to provide for the OP then please re-frame from posting.

@t3ck, No, I was right, you can do it, but it is a pain. The reason I didn’t post details is because I suspected that even if it didn’t go against the ToS, it certainly would go against the spirit of wp.com.

Also, I know I’m just a guest here, but it usual seems like better protocol to tag a post as being possibly inaccurate, rather than completely removing it altogether, unless the material itself is illegal or goes against the rules.

  • Unknown's avatar

@tbol3 I’m sorry for your inconvenience I removed your post because of the inaccuracy if someone buys the domain upgrade that doesn’t allow them to be above the TOS which could be easy applied by someone reading your reply and confused about the TOS issues at hand.

So I felt it was best to remove the reply in total so their was no confusion Please Note I had to delete someone else’s reply in this thread that was applying to what you said can’t be done. (TOS reasons) and when I edited your reply their reply no longer made sense to the whole thread so that is why their reply was deleted.

Tagging the thread like that doesn’t always catch the persons eye to alert them of possible inaccuracy plus the tag section isn’t meant to be used for tags like that. The sole purpose of the tag field is to provide accurate related tags to make the thread found easier or to bring attention of a thread needing moderation.

P.s. Your volunteer time here is welcomed! so please continue helping out when you can. = )

Okay, I’m sorry for being a bit cranky. Wp.com is still a great platform.

And yes, I certainly didn’t want anyone to break the TOS. When I talk to people, I generally use the words can be done and should be done very differently. Just because it is doable, it’s still a bad thing to do. I will make every attempt possible to clarify myself better in future posts, sorry about that.

That’s okay we’ve all been there from time to time not being very clear with are words sorry if I came across a bit harsh I’m just trying to keep the forums threads informative with helpful replies that can be referenced at a later time from someone searching the forums. and spam free. = )
