Hey there,
What’s your blog’s address? The one mentioned here uses ‘Wilson‘ theme.
When I make a post, it doesn’t show the category at the end.
You have to assign categories to your posts so that it displays in your post.
To assign a category:- Go to My Sites → Site → Posts
- Click on the post you want to assign to a category.
- Under Document Settings on the right, expand the Category option.
- Click the checkbox next to the category you want the post to be assigned to and publish your changes
Check this doc for detailed instructions:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#assigning-posts-to-categoriesAlso, how do I hide author?
Some themes provide a ‘content options’ option in customize where you can modify how you want to display a post/page. If you have a content option in your customizer then you can choose to hide the author there.
Check this link out:

Thanks!

If you check the wilson theme, there is an example of a website, and you can clearly see “categories” just to the left of “tags”
-
For that, you would need to add the ‘Categories’ widget to your sidebar.
Head to My Sites > Design > Customize > Widgets > Sidebar > Click on Add a Widget > Add the ‘Categories’ widget.
This will make it appear in the sidebar.

Hope this helps!

I am not referring to widgets
I am talking about categories at the end of a post. If you check my blog. It’s showing right now now
However if I make the slightest change to my website, like changing the logo, or editing the menu, the category might disappear at the end of my post. I have to edit the post and fumble around with changing the categories and it might redisplay again -
Hey there,
Sorry I misunderstood it.
I saw the categories appeared then but doesn’t show anymore.
I tried to replicate the theme and assigned different categories to posts and it appears fine in my post.
See this screenshot:
https://prnt.sc/ntgo2yCan you please share a screenshot of the post where you have assigned the categories?
I am anyway tagging modlook so that they can take a closer look.
Thanks!

financialclinic123 – Go ahead and add that screen shot to your media library and from there we can take a look. Let us know once you’ve done that.

I have included the screenshot in my media library
The category display is very erratic, sometime it shows, sometime it disappears, I have to make random changes with customization or change around the category hoping it might show up again -
Also if you click “My Millionaire Journey” in the menu
That is a category link, it will show at the top that the post in the category “My Journey”
But it just fails to display at the end of the post -

Hi there,
staff-arya asked for a screen shot of the post where the issue is visible, not a screen shot of the editor. But I can see the issue on your site.
However, I’m not able to replicate it at all with another site on the same theme, so this is likely something specific to your site.
My suspicion is it’s because you only have one post published on your site so far. Try publishing some more posts and see if that changes anything.

Just wanted to add, I tested this thing on my site and the categories appear at the end even if there’s just one post published. (Note: I had multiple posts and deleted all just keeping one on my site, if that makes any difference)
@financialclinic123, Just as a suggestion can you also try deleting that post and re-publishing it again assigning it all the categories that you need. -
I just created a new post.
I put it in 2 other different categories, but they are not showing again. -
I’m seeing your categories, so it looks like you’ve corrected this: https://financialclinic.home.blog/2019/05/27/test-test-test/
-
Yeah I see them too.
Like I said, it’s all very random.
Hopefully this issue is fixed once and for all. -

I see your latest post, with 3 tags, existing in those 3 tags on your site.
Would you please elaborate on what isn’t working?
-
category is not showing :(
If you click on “My Millionaire Journey” on the menu
You would see that both posts are in the “My Journey” category
But that is not displayed again…
