<div class=”cshINNER”><img class=”alignnone wp-image-949 size-medium” src=”http://annacurtindotcom.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/gps-laser-painting-2.jpg?w=215″ alt=”” width=”215″ height=”300″ /></div>

I see six images on the front page of your site, often called the “home” page. Are you looking to display a single image or these six?
When you use the Gallery, this is how the images display. You may set the columns to one and control the size of the images to some extend in the Gallery settings.
If you wish to feature a single image on the front page of the site you will need to embed just a single image at the width you desire (limited with the width of the content column of the WordPress Theme) and not use a gallery on that web page.

To understand how your theme is designed you can consult the detailed theme description page at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/widely/
