Showing imported image files as href doesn’t work
-
Hi all,
I’ve got a question about showing image files in my posts. I use MS OneNote to create the blog entry, then use “blog this” which puts it into MS Word for previewing, and finally I post it directly to WordPress. When I do that, any images in the blog come in as png files, such as:
But then when I preview the blog entry, I only see little boxes with x’s in them rather than images. Looking at the html, it’s an href, and a valid one that actually points to a picture.
If I remove the href and add the image manually from the media library, then I get an img class. That does work, and shows an image in the blog instead of a little square with an x.
<img class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-132″ title=”102108-0022-20080812gra2.png”
src=”http://hanhartd.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/102108-0022-20080812gra2.png” alt=”” width=”479″ height=”426″ />That’s a lot of work, though, to manually add each image after importing it… And it seems odd that href wouldn’t work when the link itself does work…
Am I missing something really basic here? Is there a way to get href’s to work for imported png files?
Thanks in advance!
Doug

I didn’t ask this very well. More clearly: when importing a post with images, is there a way to have the img string be inserted into the href that’s automatically created? Without having to manually put it there via the media gallery?

All I can say is don’t use Word. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/
