Showing one post on front page

  I am using Twenty Eleven. I’m trying to show only one post on my front page. I thought I could achieve this by going to Settings –> Reading –> Show 1 post at a time. However, this didn’t work. Here’s my blog: http://qc-writers.com/. Am I missing something obvious?

  The same is happening for me on the Twenty Ten theme. I have it set it one post and its not working.
