showing post summary only

  Hello,

  I can’t figure out how to show only a post summary for my blog. I published my first post but the whole thing shows up on the page. Is there any way to make it so that maybe the first 20 lines shows and then there is an option for “Read more”? I’ve tried: Settings: Reading: For each article in feed show: Summary. This hasn’t worked. Any thoughts?

  That setting is for your RSS feed only. To truncate your posts themselves, you need to either choose a theme that does that automatically OR you need to use the Read More tag, the icon which is a dotted line across the page if you’re using the Visual Editor. Put the cursor where you want the break, then click the icon.
