Showing shortened blog posts on homepage

Hello. I’ve noticed that my blog posts are appearing in full on the home page. I’d like them to only be summarized on the main page so users will have to click the blog post link to view the full article. This way, I can track how many visitors are reading each post. With the full content of the post visible on the main page, visitors dont need to navigate elsewhere which shows no traffic to the post.

Ad the “Insert read more tag”. You’ll find it as a button in the text editor, top row, third from the right.

You need to create excerpts.
Please refer to the following support page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/Note that the excerpt feature only works with certain themes. If your theme does not support excerpts, you can use the More tag instead.
