showing thumbnail photos when searching Categories

  I have the Thesis theme that I use to blog about my cardmaking, when I publish a post I always have a photo of my project and link it to a category (eg cards, 3D etc), when people search through my categories they only see the post header, I have tried in vain to try and workout how to have a thumbnail image attached to these post headers so that my blog readers can quickly see what is in the post and decide of they want to look at the full post. Can someone advise how to do that.

  If you have the Thesis theme, you’re not hosted at WordPress.com and need to seek help at WordPress.ORG instead.
