Showing YouTube Live videos links before they air

  I’ve been linking our YouTube Live Stream link in the YouTube block for months as a way for people to easily tune in to our Friday Live Stream. Now when I try, the YouTube block disappears and only the text remains. Is this an error or just the way the YouTube block works now?

  Hi! I suspect this might be a recent change on YouTube’s end; I’ve done a couple of tests and it looks like this problem is specific to YouTube links containing the /live/ part of the address.

  I’m not sure if there’s anything we can do on our end to change this, but one possible workaround is to use the ‘default’ address instead, that shows in the browser address bar. I had a quick look at your site and found your YouTube channel – if I understand correctly, this is the right upcoming Live Stream?

  It looks like if you embed this in a YouTube block, it’ll work as you expect; it’s the ‘Share’ link with /live/ in it which just shows as a text link. I hope that helps, if you do have any other questions let us know!
