Shut down site because host has shut down

  Hi, I manage an association that created a site which hasn’t been supported by the host for over a year. The information is out of date, and the best outcome would be to shut the site down. Is there a way to do this, even if the host is AWOL?

  Hi,
  Your site might be hosted on self hosted using wordpress dot org
  the admin of that blog or site can take it down or once hosting expires it will be down automatically.

  If it is on wordpress dot com then and you are owner of site or blog you can delete it.
  my sites > setting > delete.

  Thanks Vishal, that’s good advice, and will help me be clearer in my request.

  It’s definitely on WordPress.com, but my association isn’t the owner of the site. It was created by a volunteer, who isn’t volunteering with us anymore. Is there any way to get this site shut down?
