  I’d like to shut down a site. How do I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Best to set it to Private

  Dashboard >> Settings >> Privacy >> I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose

  If you delete a site the address (URL) is gone forever even from you – setting it to Private lets you change your mind some time in the future – there is no charge for letting a site just site – be sure and write down the username and password and email – you can also delete all the Pages and Posts if you want and just let the site sit.

  Deleting a WordPress.com blog is forever. No URLs are recycled or reused. That’s why we recommend making the blog “private” especially when the blog has your name in the URL, as you may wish to use it in the future.

  To delete or cancel a site, go to Tools -> Delete Site in your Dashboard. An email confirmation step is required.
