  I want to shut down a blog and don’t know how.

  If you’re trying to delete a site that you own these are the steps to follow:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Keep in mind that this is a permanent action and it is unable to be reversed. If deleting the site is not the best option for you, there are some alternatives listed in that link.
