side bar options for rusty grunge help

  I just started a blog on book reviews. I want to have an option on the right hand side (not a techie here!) that you can click options like Mystery books , non-fiction books , adventure books etc. and would link you to books in those categories. I have the rusty grunge theme. Is this possible to do? Thank you for any help!
