side bar widget

  I am trying to add ‘rockyou countdown timer’ to my sidebar but after putting the code in txt widget and saving – only the code appears on the sidebar. The same thing happened when I tried to add a ‘clock’, instead of the clock, the code itself appeared on the sidebar.

  Please help and tell me what am I doing wrong ?

  The reason that code is stripped by wordpress.com software is because it’s likely violate our security (javascript, iframes, forms, shockwave or flash embeds, etc.) However, as we are not equipped with crystal balls or mind reading capability we would need you to post the code so we can tell you what’s happening. Will you do that please?

  It’s a flash embed. Note the ’embed’ tag in there. It’s stripped due to security concerns.

  You may want to search for countdown timers here in the forums. I thought we found one that worked.

  We do have one from the ticker factory that works. It does not fir into a sidebar text widget and must be placed in a page or post. I’ll be back with the url in a moment.

  There isn’t a countdown ticker mentioned in the forum search box that will fit inside a text widget. Perhaps you can find another one that’s only html on the net and that will fit inside a text widget. I couldn’t find one but if you do please post the url here.

  I was looking for that aswell, but couldn’t find one either. I ended up creating a new page for it.
