Side by side for three images…

  • Unknown's avatar

    How do I get three images to appear side by side? I’ve done a lot of research and tried different things but nothing works. Also, how do I know the maximum width for content with my current theme, Gateway? Could I be exceeding it and that’s why they won’t appear side by side? I could make three horizontal images (kind of like banners) that are stacked but I want them to be as wide as possible, so how do I know how wide I can make them? Thanks!

    Hi Andrew, it looks like your margin-right was set to 35%. This should fix the issue:

    .site-main {
    		margin: 0 0 0 0;
    	}

    Thank you, but where do I put that code so it will work? At the top of the page? I’m not too experienced with this stuff!

    Also, is that something I can change with a free theme? Thanks!

    You’re welcome. Just copy and paste that code snippet into your CSS editor.

    Yes, you can modify free themes but you must have either WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business active on your site to be able to add custom CSS. You can add CSS using the CSS Editor in the Appearance → Customize → CSS panel in your dashboard.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks so much for your help. I have basic (free) WordPress and am using a free theme. Is there anything I can do to either change the margin or make it to my pictures can be in a horizontal row?

    No problem. It looks like your current blog theme is Baskerville. Are you intending to switch to Gateway?

    First, have you looked over theme documentation?
    Baskerville
    Gateway

    Next, try posting your theme specific questions over in the theme forums. You’ll get help from users with more detailed understanding of each themes capabilities.
