border-style: solid;
border-color: #ccc;
border-width: 1px;
padding: 5px;
background-color: #eee;
}
To add CSS:If you are using WordPress 4.7 or later, use the “Additional CSS” option in the customizer.
If your theme has a custom CSS option, use that to add the CSS shown above.
Learn to use the Chrome Developer Tools to help you see and test changes to your CSS.You may want to play around with the colors to find something more to your liking.

Hi there, keep in mind that in order to make CSS changes on your WordPressdotcom website, your site needs to be on at least the Premium upgrade plan. More about that here:

@turnupkenya – Also, just mentioning that on your site thisiskenya.home.blog using the Lovecraft theme https://wordpress.com/theme/lovecraft I’m not seeing a red sidebar.
What I do see is that the hover color for a link in your sidebar as well as a visited link turns red. If you have visited all those links under “Counties of Kenya” those links will be red for you until you log out and flush your browser’s cache and cookies.
Hope that helps.
