Sidebad positioning with Benevolence theme

I moved my sidebar to the opposite side of my blog by switching float:left; to float:right; and adjusting some margins. It’s rendering fine in my version of Firefox, but in IE the post text doesn’t start until the bottom of the sidebar, and in another version of Firefox, the post and the sidebar are all squished to one side. Can anyone look at my CSS and tell me what I am doing wrong?
