Sidebar 2 problem

    If I try to put a widget into sidebar 2 it always ends up in sidebar 1.
    I am using the Digg 3 theme.
    I go into Widgets>Add Widget click the Sidebar drop down menu and select sidebar 2 then configure the widget press Done tthen Save Changes.
    Go back to my site and the widget is in sidebar 1.
    I have also when selecting sidebar 2 tried clicking Show then adding the widget but it turns out the same.

    After selecting sidebar 2 from the dropdown, you have to click the “show” link before trying to add any widgets, and make sure that the page has completely loaded before you try to add the widget.

    I see that you say you have done that (must pay more attention).

    After selecting the sidebar 2, and then clicking show, make sure it completes the reload and then click the refresh button in your browser tool bar. Then try adding the widget.

    If that does not work, log out clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

    I just tried it on my test blog with digg 3 and can add to either sidebar without any issues.

    I am having the exact same issue for my wordpress.org blog. This is the closest I have found to anyone having a solution. But I have logged in and out so many times, cleared out everything, tried Firefox and IE. But nothing will make a widget add to sidebar 2 (after showing it). I am now wondering if is somehow related to my hosting company? I regularly get an Error 500 message whenever I try to do anything with the widgets. When I refresh reload the page my action will have been completed but I always get the error. I thought I had this fixed this past Sunday when I upped the values in my php.ini file. It worked for Sunday but on Monday I was back to getting the error messages again. Do you think this error and my sidebar 2 problem are linked? Although I was having the issue with adding widgets to sidebar 2 even before I had this error message (and even before I added any additional plug-ins). it has all been a very annoying experience.

    ERROR MESSAGE:
    “Error 500 – Internal server error
    An internal server error has occurred!
    Please try again later.”

    My php.ini file:
    upload_max_filesize = 20M
    post_max_size = 20M
    php_value memory_limit 20M
