Sidebar

Hello,
The sidebar of our homepage has suddenly become kind of double exposed – what is this about? Easy to fix?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s very strange and I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

For what it’s worth, I happened to notice that the “double-exposure” in your sidebar went away when I clicked to change to the English language version of your blog, in case that is helpful to staff somehow…
-
I didn´t even know you could click for an English version, how do you do that? Well, if you single-click in the Norwegian-version sidebar the double exposure disappears as well. I just don´t understand how this has come by, neither how to fix it.
-
Thanks for reporting this! It looks like there’s an issue on the front page of the Oslo theme when the menu is set to always display. I’ve reported this to our developers and I’ll let you know when I hear back!
In the meantime, you can fix this by unchecking the box in your theme settings in the Customizer that says “Always display menu”.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Now that I go back and look again, it’s not an English version of the whole blog, it’s in the menu – a subheading under MEDLEMMER:
MEDLEMMER
In English
ForeningsnyttI could just barely see the words “in English” in that double-exposed sidebar, so I clicked on it and magically everything cleared up. But now I see that I also wasn’t on the homepage anymore. I think the homepage will retain that double exposure unless you follow the staff suggestion above…
Good luck! -
Tried unchecking the box, but then the whole sidebar became a mess, letters in wrong places and no menu. Still hope for a solution on this.
-
Ah yes. because your tagline is so long unchecking the menu option doesn’t entirely work for you.
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from our developers.
-
Thanks, it looks pretty amateurishly and we can´t have that. / I´ve changed opacity for the menu to make it look better. NB when you click on the menu the sidebar looks normal again.
-
Looks like a great temporary solution. We’ve had a couple more reports about this as well, which I’ve added to my report of the bug. It should all help the developers figure out what’s happened and fix it up.
Thanks so much for your patience and flexibility. I’ll let you know as soon as I get word that this has been fixed.
-
Hi again, any solutions coming up here? We´re loosing some credibility these days, evens contracts, due to the amateurish look of the website.
Adding to this, even stastic features in our premium version has got bugs to it.

Hi there!
The developers are working as quickly as they can. If you’re concerned about how your site looks, perhaps change your theme for the time being? When you change it back, all of your Customizations will still be there.
-
This is just a tip I’d like to share re: tagline length. It’s not in any blogger’s best interest to create a lengthy tagline.
Do not exceed a combined *total of 60 characters or fewer (including spaces) in the site title and tagline because that’s all search engines like Google will display in the SERPs (search engine page results). http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/
