Sidebar affiliate widget for my own book

  I am a writer and am currently setting up my blog page on wordpress.com. Naturally I would like to link to my book on Amazon (or any of the other distributors) through an affiliate program to encourage people to buy my book. I have the HTML code but the HTML widget in the side bar doesn’t seem to work with it. Can you tell me how I can create a widget please?

  What is the code you are using?

  You can paste it into a reply here by clicking the “code” formatting button, pasting the code, and then clicking the “code” button again.

  That code looks incomplete. Or, if not, it just looks like a referral URL to your product page. It doesn’t include any link text or HTML.
