sidebar at bottom…what is a “<div> tag”?

I know there are other open posts about this but I don’t understand half the jargon you use!

my sidebar popped to the bottom of my main page. on individual posts it looks normal. I have no feed widget on the sidebar so maybe the prob is the open <div> tag you all are talking about. what is that? i don’t know much html. -
looked under HTML on toolbar, saw that there was a prob w the image I posted using CTL-C & CTRL-V instead of toolbar. dleted image and POOF, sidebar where it belongs!
