Sidebar code problem – dropping <ahref
-
I’ve linked a banner from RedBubble in my sidebar & up until today it’s worked. But now I notice that when the mouse hovers over it, the banner doesn’t link to RedBubble. So I copied and pasted the code for the banner and tried to save it again, but when I save it, the href part of the tag gets dropped. The banner works on other sites like Flickr, so I don’t think it’s an issue with RedBubble. Any ideas?

That’s redbubble is advertising code and it’s being stripped out by the wordpress.com programming because advertising is NOT allowed on wordpress.com blogs

Also note that the wordpress.com TOS states that wordpress.com blogs cannot be used to drive traffic to third party sites.
http://wordpress.com/tos/If you want a commercial blog that you can monetize then your best bet is to download free software from wordpress.ORG and hire a web host and set up your own self hosted site. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1
