Sidebar elements not showing up
-
I have the Baskerville theme, and in the settings I added widgets to the sidebar because they wouldn’t show up in customization. How do I get it to work?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
My tests confirmed that, with the Baskerville theme activated, the Sidebar widget area does not appear at Customize > Widgets. Also, at Customize > Widgets, the widgets in Footer B display, but not those in Footer A or Footer C.
Summary of unexpected results detected at Customize > Widgets (Baskerville theme):
1. At Footer A, or Footer B, the widgets added at Appearance > Widgets do not display.
2. At Footer A, the only options are “Reorder” or “Add a Widget.”
3. At Footer B, the only option is “Add a Widget.”
4. The Sidebar widget area does not appear. Whether or not it has previously been populated at Appearance > Widgets, it will not appear at Customize > Widgets. -

Correction:
1. At Footer A, or Footer C, the widgets added at Appearance > Widgets do not display. -

Hi folks, can you try one of these things?
– View an individual post, then go to My Site > Customize
OR
– From the customizer, click on an individual post; note whether the Sidebar option appears
The sidebar option appears while you’re viewing an individual post or page because those templates support a sidebar.

@ supernovia,
Hi. Yes, that works. Thank you! And it gives me one more reason not to use Customize for widgets.
-
I noticed, also, that Footer C is now displaying correctly at Customize, though the contents of Footer A are still not showing, just the “Reorder” link and the “Add a Widget” button (as previously).

Mine still isn’t showing up. It says in the WP admin that I have sidebar widgets, but on my actual site it isn’t coming up.

@infinityapproved can you open an individual post and tell me whether you see the sidebar there? I see a calendar and a subscription widget.

I see it now in individual posts, but how do I get it on the main page where all the posts are visible.

This theme was not designed with a sidebar on the front page. You can see the demo here:
https://baskervilledemo.wordpress.com/This is why you’re unable to see the Sidebar options while previewing the front page — the front page does not support sidebars.
