Sidebar font changed to italics
-
Recently the font in my sidebar widgets changed to italics. It must be some formatting I think caused by the 2 or 3 recent blogs but so far not able to diagnose.
Also if I want to increase the content (postings) column width by taking a bit from the sidebar column can anyone help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have an open HTML tag either in a post or a text widget.
After you go here and enable this > Settings > Writing
Formatting
_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”See here for sorting this out > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/layout-issues/

Hi there, @timethief hit on the problem. There is a missing ending em tag in this post: David Thompson and Families First…
I would suggest opening that post in the post editor, switch to the Text tab in the browser and right before the opening strong tag on the first paragraph, add the ending em tag.

Thanks for your help, I did but it didn't help. I tried changing the post the draft and it did not work either.

I don’t see any italic on your front page, but it could be that there is an unclosed italic tag in one of them. Do as @timethief suggested. Here is the short version.
At Settings > Writing, click “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and save.
Open each post in the editor that appears on your front page, switch from the Visual tab to the Text tab and back again and update the post. Do that with each post (starting with the latest) and work back in time and check your site in between. Hopefully you will only have to go through a few to get it fixed. -

Being a staff member, I have access to your dashboard. Would it be alright if I looked through your posts to see if I can find what is causing this? I won’t change anything, just view your posts and look for anything that might cause something like this.

You know, I simply can’t find the post with the issue, so let’s use a big hammer to override that issue in the sidebar and below the posts (comments/continue reading). Add the following to the very end of your custom CSS.
#sidebar, .post-more { font-style: normal; } -
@thesacredpath
The big hammer did it, thanks for your diligence. Do you think there is a bug in the theme? -

@barbadosunderground2, no I don’t think it is a bug since it doesn’t show up on my test site or on the demo site. It is likely an missing ending em tag somewhere in one of your posts, I just couldn’t identify where it was. My usual tools for finding that sort of thing failed with Bold News. Typically it is something in a post on the main page of the site, but all of yours were clean, as was your text widgets.
Glad the hammer worked and you are welcome.
