Sidebar has disappeared

  Hello,

  After removing all the widgets from my sidebar, I now want to add categories but when i drag and drop the categories widget into the sidebar option and go to my homepage, nothing appears.

  I have tried things like automatically clearing random HTML from the posts and updating the posts but still no sidebar. Although weirdly the categories do appear on the mobile version of the site…

  Howdy,

  The theme you’re using, Mixfolio, doesn’t show the sidebar on the front page, or on posts that use the photo or gallery post format.

  If you want to show a sidebar on your front page, you might want to browse the theme showcase for a theme that works more to your liking:

  http://theme.wordpress.com

  Another option would be to create a page with a sidebar, and set it as a static front page:
