Sidebar height

Hi, I have the CSS upgrade and I’m trying to get m sidebar to extend to the bottom of my header. I have a border set, but the sidebar only stretches so far. Is there a way I can extend the sidebar to my footer?? My site can b found here, is C’est La Vie

Well, you’ve hardly got anything in it. Why not take those box-links you’ve got and put them one over the other, instead of three across?

nahh, i want them to stay like that, is there a way i can extend the sidebar without having to change up the box links?

But it wouldn’t be or look any different than it does now: it’s blank white. Unless you put something in it or change the colour so it’s different from the background there, it’s going to look exactly the same whether it technically extends all the way to the bottom or not. The only thing that’s different would be that black line on the side. Why not just make it invisible?
I believe (no expert!) that you can set the height to a fixed height instead of one that relates to how much stuff in it, but since the height of your blog posts is always different, the length of your front page will change as well. So unless there’s a way to relate the length of the sidebar dynamically to the length of the front page (AND individual post pages) you would end up with a sidebar that still has big gaps. And I’m not aware of any way to make that relationship happen; I’ve never seen a sidebar that ALWAYS fits.

yeah i get what your saying. There has to be a way though and wu do u mean by “make it visible”

you could stack a bunch of empty text widgets in there, if you really wanted. Keep in mind that the length of your main page is also dependent on the number and length of the blog posts shown on it (and is therefore variable).

yaheardthat – you need to use something called faux columns Its the only way. Google it up.

and you have not read anything like how faux cols work. you have just assumed. wrongly. -
