  Sure you can. A text widget can hold text and/or and image.

  Looks like you are using Kubrick Theme. It is possible to have both Text and Image widget in sidebar

  luongo,
  The problem with Kubrick is that the sidebar only shows on the front page and on page pages, not on post pages. If you need sidebars on your posts you need to switch to a different theme.
